Hot Embraces...
Title: Blood of the Rose
Author: Anya Bast

Description:
Behind an illusion of folklore, the Embraced create a barrier between the Dominion and humankind. Penelope Coddington, wealthy daughter of upper class England, was marked at birth to take her rightful place within the ranks of the fully Embraced Vampir.
Aidan O’Shea, a working class Irishman on the Coddington Estate, is also marked. Class difference has kept Aidan and Penelope apart, but soon that will change. The Vampir will realize their birthrights and they will both belong to the same noble, blood-drenched line.
And that’s good, because unless these two can come together, it’s going to be hell on Earth.
Review:
BLOOD OF THE ROSE is the first book in the Embraced series. Anya Bast comes out swinging with this first book. The plot was great. The love story between Aidan and Penelope started when they were children but statutes separated them quickly. A series of events sees them both to America and in to the arms of Gabriel, the Embraced leader in New York . After being embraced they are thrown in to a world they never knew existed and a war between Vampir and Dominion. Together they are the only hope for the Embraced and all of humanity.
This book was HAWT! I enjoyed the love story between Aidan and Penelope as well as the battle between the Embraced and their enemy the Dominion. The love scenes while hawt were not so badly written that I felt the need to pass them by. In fact I think I went back and read them again. My only complaint about this book was I felt the editing should have been looked into a little better. A couple times I ran across a sentence that was missing a word or words that had letters in the wrong place.

Description:
Gabriel Letourneau, a four-hundred-year old vampire, has been guarding Fate Harding from the dark forces that swirl around her for a very long time. On the night Gabriel’s period of watching comes to an end, when he finally believes she’s safe, Fate is violently attacked, Embraced, and left on his doorstep.
Fate didn’t know she had a badass vampiric bodyguard until the night she became a vampire herself. She awakens from her ordeal with a powerful craving for both sex and blood, and Gabriel looks perfectly capable of satisfying all her needs at once. With sexual desire hot enough to spark the whole city on fire, she turns to Gabriel to sate the lust of the recently Embraced and teach her the ways of her new life.
Fate awakens something within Gabriel that has been asleep for centuries. He is insatiable in every way when it comes to her, but taming and keeping fiery, headstrong Fate is another matter entirely. Especially since she has a history of being mistreated and betrayed by those she loves. Gabriel’s greatest challenge becomes earning Fate’s trust.
Even if Gabriel manages to convince Fate he’s the only man for her it may not be enough to keep her. Someone is stalking Fate, manipulating them both, and punishing Gabriel for his past sins…
Review:
Anya Bast delivers another great book with this second installment of the Embraced series, BLOOD OF THE RAVEN. In this book we follow Fate, a human artist who has the ability to dream walk. This ability allows her to enter the Dominion realm and kill them while she dreams. Knowing her share of heartache she is strong and determined never to be hurt again. Gabriel, a Vampire leader, is hell bent on protecting her, knowing she’s a target of the Dominion due to her ability. Gabriel feels Fate is safe and allows his attention to be diverted for a short time. Fate is then brutally attacked and forced to become Embraced and then left on Gabriel’s door step. Together they try to find out who attacked her. Was she attacked due to her ability or will one of their past come back to bite them both?
I just love this series. Fate is a strong woman, a black belt, who takes no shit off anyone. She is independent and refuses to allow anyone or anything to run her life. Even being almost killed, forced to become a vampire and having to hide out because someone wants to harm her. Gabriel is an old vampire who, while watching fate for years, begins to have feelings for Fate that he hasn’t felt for many years. Their story is a steamy one, especially when Gabriel decides he wants to give Fate every sexual fantacy she’s ever had. It’s really hot when Gabriel invites Niccolo, a friend he had know for centuries, to share their bed for the night. Gabriel ends up fighting two battles, one to keep fate safe and one to keep Fate with him forever. I felt this was a great book all around. Great story and great Characters.

But Tiya’s feelings of being alive may not last. Someone in this territory hungers for the special blood of the OtherKin Sidhe …and her family’s blood in particular.
Review:
Anya Bast continues her story in this 3rd book of the Embraced series, BLOOD OF AN ANGEL. This book introduces Tiya, an OtherKin Sidhe…a fairy. She’s a woman hell bent on getting revenge for her family’s murder. Charlie has lost two women that he loved and fled from Gabriel’s territory to get away from all his memorys. Anya put these two together for a wonderful story of love, lust, betrayal and vengeance.
This story touched me. I couldn’t help but put myself in both Tiya and Charlie’s shoes, both having been hurt by love lost..it’s hard to want to be open to love again even when the lust is overwhelming. This book brought so much for me love, betrayal, the need for revenge, all of which I can relate to. The action was sweet while the romance was smoking hot.
